Here is another member of the Cromer baseball family. Roy Bunyan Cromer III , better known as Tripp was for a season the Cardinals everyday shortstop filling in for an injured 39 year old Ozzie Smith in 1994. A Cardinal fan, I watched Cromer hit some early homeruns only to become a frustrating 165 lb pull hitter. He was a scrappy AAA shortstop worth rooting for. Here is Tripp Cromer in his Louisville Redbirds uniform. A team he played for in 1992 to '94 and 1996. He would have another more successful stretch filling in at second and short for the '97 Dodgers with 4 HR and 20 RBI's in 28 games.
