Actually, PinsonHOF, your photo has Swindler in his college uniform -- the University of Southwestern Louisiana. The photo below on the left shows the same uniform straight on, with the same #5 uniform number on it. This photo is from the Lafayette (LA) Daily Advertiser of May 6, 1970.

The photo on the right shows Swindler with the Pittsfield Rangers minor league team. It's for sale on eBay by Historic Images.

Found some minutes of a meeting of the School Board of Pointe Coupee Parish which met in New Roads, LA, in December of 2009. That's the town in which Swindler was born. Included in the minutes was an expression of sympathy to Sylvester Major Swindler for the passing of his mother. The minutes mentioned that he was the principal of the Valverda Elementary School. That school is located in Maringouin, LA, which is about 20 miles from New Roads. It seems that after his baseball career was over, he didn't stray far from his original home.
