Depth Chart

Not much has changed in terms of stats or design from the first post a couple years ago. However, it's all automated now.

Depth charts pull data from all levels of an org by position.

1b and 3b include all batters whose position is set to 1b/3b as well as every hitter who has a rating better than average at that position. The thinking there was that we want to see who can play that position, regardless of what we call him.

Middle infielders are grouped together since there is often so much overlap.

Outfielders ditto.

Starters and relievers are separated out into their own groups.

nb - the depth chart template occasionally drops chart titles. I'm working on correcting that, but it's like whack-a-mole. You can see the fields each chart refers to in the meantime by clicking on the chart. It will highlight the data used.
