2296 Players of the Week - Week 17

BL - BL Premier Player Picked: Po Greenzone demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Brotherhood League Player of the Week Award.

The Slog's left fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .556 average (5-for-9) with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.

On the year Greenzone is hitting .343 with 57 hits, 20 home runs, 56 RBIs, .420 OBP and has scored 45 runs.

IL - Player of the Week Goes to Lexington Pitcher: Lawdog Whipple is capable of a great game every time he takes the hill and last week the Lexington Synths hurler proved that point with gusto to become the newest Institute League Player of the Week.

He picked up 1 win and no losses and rang up 6 strikeouts in 9 innings to finish with a splendid 0.00 ERA.

Whipple has made 17 starts this season, posting 7 wins and 4 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .324 against him and he has 79 strikeouts in 117.2 innings with a 4.74 ERA.

ML - ML Honors Goodneighbor Center Fielder: 26-year-old John Rose made a few Goodneighbor headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with anyone. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Minutemen League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.

He cracked 7 hits in 12 at-bats to put up a .583 average. Rose collected 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 8 runs.

Looking at his stats this year, Rose has compiled a .300 batting average, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 55 runs. He has played in 51 games and scored 37 runs.

RL - Inman Honored by Railroad League: 27-year-old Grognak Inman sent shock waves through Railroad League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Railroad League Player of the Week Award.

The Yao Guai's 9th-round pick, Inman made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .647 average, 11 hits in 17 at-bats, 1 home run and 6 runs batted in.

Where the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Inman certainly made his mark last week.

Thus far this year Inman has hit .324 with 9 home runs and 47 RBIs.
