1959 Louisville Colonels

Here is a photo of future major league veterans Claude Raymond, and the Canadian born duo of Ron Piche and Georges Miranda. Miranda had his best minor league season that year with an 18-6 record and 2.48 earned run average but alas he would have the shortest and most insignificant big league career of the three. Louisville was a AAA affiliate of the Milwaukee Braves at the time. Despite Miranda brilliant season they did not call him up in September. He would later pitch in two separate seasons for the Giants and Twins. Georges Miranda had a minor league record of 110-78 and hit 10 home runs. Piche hurled for the Braves, Cardinals and Angels. Claude Raymond had a meandering 12 year major league career beginning with the '59 White Sox and ending with the youthful Montreal Expos in 1971 with stops in Milwaukee, Houston and Atlanta in between.
