Preview of our 1st round opponents, the Kitchener Rangers.
The Rangers lost a couple of their top players from last season but are led by blueliner Coda Erhardt. Erhardt is a 5th round pick of the New Jersey Devils and will be looking to lead the Rangers in an upset over Owen Sound.
Kitchener doesn't have one true superstar on their team but rely on balanced scoring to get the job done. 13 10 goal scorers with Erhardt's 22 goals leading the team shows they have a good balance and depth. The Rangers also have a fairly large team as their smallest player, goalie Andrey Sorokin is listed at 5'10" 202 lbs.
The series will feature a battle of a pair of Russians in net, Andrey Sorokin for Kitchener and Andrey Misin for Owen Sound. If the Rangers have any hope of competing in this series, Sorokin will have to be on top of his game.
