Was Ruhwedel waived when you sent him to the minors? He should be appearing on the team you sent him to. When you edit him, where does it say he is, still on the Pittsburgh roster?
The team salary cap amounts will adjust during the season to reflect the cap space you've accumulated by being under the cap during the year. Doing it that way allows you to see how much cap hit you can add by keeping the frame of reference (the player's whole-season cap hit) constant, as opposed to needing to get into the math of pro-rating the salary cap of a new acquisition to the proportion of the season he'll be with you. The net effect is the same, it's just much easier to see and understand at a glance.
