* LHP Kikuo Aoki still has room to grow as a 22-year-old, but a 12-1 record with a 2.16 ERA over 95 2/3 IP and 1.16 WHIP should give you an idea of how good the kid is already
* RHP Ethan Smith's 2.17 ERA over 99 1/3 IP and 0.91 WHIP, and his 10.0 K/9, point to why he's included in this roster
* LHP Tetsuya Yoshimoto has gone 9-0 with a miniscule 1.36 ERA and 0.73 WHIP over 92 2/3 IP. Simply studly.
* RHP Katsumi Ikeda celebrated his 3-year/2.4M contract extension with his second career All-Star nod. His 1.81 ERA and 0.87 WHIP over 49 2/3 IP are career bests.
* RHP Danny Bergeron's 18 saves are lower than this point last year, but not for lack of trying. 13.7 K/9 and 0.95 WHIP in 38 IP.
