Your Shizuoka Arrows News Source!
A 13-3 July, heralded by Hayato Sakamoto's arrival and subsequent revival, is giving Shizuoka faithful hope for a repeat. The Arrows are 66-28, and 9 games ahead of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks as the deadline passes.
Seriously, Sakamoto's put up a .365/.404/.788 slash line in 15 games in green! He's not as slick a fielder as Shinji, but he's also not a complete dud. We'll see when playoffs come if he sticks.
Losing Daichi Ishii for the rest of the season will continue to place strain on the rotation, but Yoshinobu Yamamoto has slid right in, and Kodai Umetsu remains a good contributor in the 6-spot.
The Arrows stayed quiet at the deadline, but arguably there's no need to make changes to a team running so well.
