2031 Opening Day Roster
The back-to-back champs are...uh, back! Some intrigue with the roster this year as RHP Yoshihide Yonamine heads to Shinano, Takahiro Arakawa is fending off a challenge from Tomonori Nitta, and Kenjyu Kuwahara gets the LF starting role to himself finally. A few new faces, marked with asterisks.

Pitchers
Rotation: LHP Kikuo Aoki, RHP Ethan Smith, RHP Aatu Puikkonen*, RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, LHP Tetsuya Yoshimoto, RHP Daichi Ishii
Bullpen: RHP Danny Bergeron, RHP Yasunaga Suzuki, RHP Hironori Watanabe, RHP Mitsukuni Matsuda, LHP CC Mercedes*, LHP Isamu Hiratsuka
Closer: LHP Yoshimitsu Ota (although I said that last year and Bergeron still got 40 saves to lead the league)

Fielders
Catcher: Yasutoki Kato, Asakichi Shimoda
First Base: Hirotaka Hayashi, Kikuo Kawamoto (DH)
Second Base: Taisei Murakami, Satoshi Onishi
Third Base: Takahiko Arakawa, Tomonori Nitta*
Shortshop: Shinji Nakamura (he prefers to just go by Shinji), Yukio Arita*
Left Field: Kenjyu Kuwahara, Atsushi Fujimoto*

RHP Katsumi Ikeda and SS Seishiro Sakaguchi are starting the season on the injured list.
