23 November 2296 - Shroud Reliever Crab-Bitten
Fort Hagen Silver Shroud reliever Jason Niederer joined a group of young Shroud players in touring the the C.I.T. Ruins Refractors’ baseball facilities.
While on the way to the C.I.T. Ruins courtyard to see General Atomics Stadium at the Ruins, Niederer happened to run into a mirelurk nest of hatchlings near Charles River. As mirelurks and their hatchlings are prone to do, the hatchlings swarmed Niederer and delivered several bites to his legs.
Nearby security was able to exterminate the hatchlings, but Niederer had a few nasty bites all over his legs. He was transported to Kendall Hospital to be treated with meds to help prevent infection. The rest of the team continued their tour after the incident and planned to attend a kegger at College Square that evening.
28 November 2296 – Birthday Party Gets Egret Player in Hot Water
Egret Scrappers’ third-round rookie draft pick Mackeron Kulpa was celebrating his birthday with his new teammates at Egret Tours Marina. It was everything a young man could want: booze, gambling, and shenanigans. Everything was going perfectly, that is, until Kulpa’s mother showed up.
Apparently, the Kulpa clan decided to relocate to Egret Tours Marina while Kulpa is a member of the team, though he may end up playing for the minor league affiliate, the Poseidon Reservoir Sentry Bots. Mama Kulpa, whose first name we do not know and were too afraid to ask, is a strict one and pulled Kulpa away from his 19th birthday party to be “taught a lesson.”
When we inquired with the Egret franchise about Kulpa’s status, bench coach Too Cool Tomlinson said Kulpa would be taking a leave of absence for the rest of the 2996 calendar year to “detoxify, but in my opinion, get henpecked.” In short, Kulpa’s mother has punished him and will not let him see his friends for a month.
