GM Notebook - August 1, 2031
The injuries have officially gotten the better of us. We had a rough July (comparatively speaking, we went 9-8) and slid into only a half-game ahead of the Okinawa Kirin Spirit, who are in 3rd place. The pennant is mostly out of reach.
Getting Taiki Ono back ought to help calm our bullpen down, and hopefully our starters can respond by performing better. I know I'm asking a lot of Yonamine and Yoshimoto, but their ERAs need to come down from 8-ish!
At least the batters are holding down the fort - Taisei Murakami had himself a good month!
All told, this year feels like the championship window is starting to slide shut. Maybe with declining arbitration to Puikkonen I can get some budget for a better push next season.
