Okay, it's time to introduce you all to Bill Duran, the current bench coach for the Missouri Show-Mes, it seems, folks, at least as things now stand for him and/or certain others around him here. I'll try not to make this post too longer here, of course. But please bear with me, just the same, if it's still a bit too long for your tastes here, okay? With no further ado, then, let's get to know him at least a little bit here, as best as we can.
Bill Duran was born on July 18, 1910 in Strawberry, California to Herschel and the former Myrna Simpson as their third son and fourth child. He is the youngest of all his parents' children only because they could not have any more children together for certain health-related reasons, mainly, much to their mutual disappointment.
Growing up as the son of a mechanic and a hospital cook, along with his two older brothers and his older twin sister Mabel, he was an above-average student in most of his classes. Except for classes like chemistry, physics, and most advanced mathematics classes such as calculus, for example, that is. Sports-related activities such as baseball and football were activities he often did well in. At least while he was still able to play them well enough on a regular enough basis in his life, from about ten years of age to about 1943 or 1944, more or less, when he eventually found himself getting hurt much too often, and missing too much potential playing time for various company-run teams due to those injuries of his.
Ultimately realizing this, he soon began looking for something he could do from then on so that he'd hopefully be better able to provide for himself and his family of five from then on in his and their lives of course. It wasn't long before Freddy Ruiz encountered him during a business trip out west to California. One thing eventually led to other things happening then to him and certain others, including Bill's eventual hiring as the Show-Mes' first-ever bench coach.
He and his wife Adele now live with their three children on a moderately-sized farm near Mexico, Missouri. They mainly raise geese, ducks, and a few cows and bulls on their farm, whenever they can in their lives, on a 40-acre farm. Two of his and Adele's children are still too young, however, to do much work on it, so he and Adele have paid workers to help out whenever necessary, for sure.
Picture(s) and certain other information will be shared later as possible and all in the future, most definitely, Lord willing. The next profile to be shared here will most likely be the one for the Show-Mes' pitching coach, one Dustin Comfort. Please wait for it to be posted soon, if possible. Thanks. That's all for now, then, everyone. CD out.
