22 March 2297 - Fans Demand More Preseason Baseball
In another week, teams will play a week's worth of warmup games, which Nate Howard refers to as Spring Training. In the meantime, fans loved the preseason tournaments and want more baseball. Therefore, Nate Howard announced that he is scheduling interleague matchups for where teams finished in a Battle for the North vs Battle for the South short series.
Schedules are still being worked on, as well as where teams will play. We do know that the Battle for the North Tournament champions, the Starlight Lady Killers, will take on the Battle for the South Tournament champions, the Goodneighbor Hancocks.
Howard said that he will guarantee no teams from the same league play each other, so he may have to shuffle finishing points. Teams will be informed later today whom their opponents are and where they need to travel if at all. Howard stated also that Diamond City and The Slog would have to travel. Every other team's playing location is probably up to a coin toss unless something prevents them from traveling or hosting.
One of the great accomplishments in Howard's eyes about the tournaments is that the league had its longest lull in unfortunate events. Shaw's catcher Dirt Potter, whose spine was crushed in a collapsed construction accident, was the last incident. That happened two days before the tournaments, March 11.
