29 March 2297 - Ronnie Shaw Hanging It Up?
University Point Deathclaws owner Ronnie Shaw hinted that she may soon be done with ownership.
"It's work," she said. "I retired from the Minutemen with plans to take things easy for once in my life. We have that option these days."
Shaw said that her personality clashes with what she thinks the team needs. She describes herself as hands-off but controlling at the same time.
"I hired people to do their jobs. I'm going to let them do it. But they have to do it right. That's what I'm checking for."
GM Nate Fumble said that he loves Shaw's enthusiasm and thinks see is a valuable part of the Deathclaws. "For my first job in the CBO, this has been much different than what I expected. Yes, Shaw gets the final word on our decisions, but she has respected my opinion, [scout] Earl [Bennett]'s, [manager] Woody [Lumpkin]'s, and the other coaches.
"She's still learning the game, but she does it like someone who always want to be 100% sure about her decisions. I love that about her."
Still, Shaw is trying to be less involved in the team. She has mentioned that age is starting to catch up with her. "I'm 63 years old. I'm probably halfway through my life, but I feel 100. It may be time to let someone else deal with the team, the caps, the hirings. I don't know how much longer I can do it."
There are no talks currently of anyone taking over the team. University Point mayor Heather Casden is assumed to be wealthy enough to afford the team, but she has not made any indications of being interested in purchasing the Deathclaws or any other team.
