by Nat Wright-Kowalski

10 April 2297 - BL: Witch Hats Hang 7-5 Loss on Party Boys

Chris Treestump was instrumental in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys to complete the sweep. The right fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Salem Witch Hats. The save went to Dan Beantown, number 2 for him. The Witch Hats, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Had Kody Downing not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Downing hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Witch Hats.

Chet Arthur was credited with the loss, though the two unearned runs given up were thanks to error machine, third baseman Tommy Talkington. Talkington helped his team with the bat, going 2 for 5 with a home run, but he continues to struggle on the field.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Salem manager Proper Lighthouse.

The defending CBO champions won the series against the defending BL champions. Boots Yellowhair was 3 for 5 with a double, a home run, two runs, and three RBI.

Fort Hagen third baseman Micah Morals was a significant contributor in his team's 6-3 triumph over the Starlight Lady Killers. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for Fort Hagen. The win gives Fort Hagen a record of 2-1.

Morals contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Fort Hagen get the win.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Morals.

Other Scores:

The Synths swept the series in style, bullying the Radstags. Chris Morgan pitched the complete-game two-hitter. He walked five and struck out six. Tyler Ross added a home run and four RBI.

10 April 2297 - ML: Sanderson goes 4-for-4, Leads Mirelurks to Sweep

The Mirelurks got a big hit from second baseman Brad Krol. In the bottom of the fifth, Krol pounded a run-scoring double to left-center. His 4th double of the season put the Mirelurks ahead, 3-2.

Sanderson told a BNN reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

10 April 2297 - RL: Scrappers Go Down to Defeat, 11-7

The win was credited to Tommie Lightbulb in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ronnie Gipper took the loss. The defeat makes Egret 1-2.
