The past several years the Brewers organization has shown an ability to produce some pretty fine pitchers and in this year's second round pick Austin Bond they may have another youngster developing towards a big league role. The 20-year old left-hander was certainly impressive in his first taste of professional ball and earned the Pitcher of the Year award for his performance with the Rookie League Greensboro Bisons.
Another southpaw, Carlos Perez, who was selected in the 21st round, came in third in the voting, although it is thought unlikely that Perez will ever become a big league hurler.
EDIT: I should note that Bond also has a sixth pitch- a Circle Change- that currently rates as a 2 with potential to reach a 7.
