1 May 2297 - Players of the Month
This month's players of the month voting happened to fall right in the middle of Week 4. I am not privy to how exactly these players are selected in this situation and it did not wait until one day later when Week 4 would be finished. Something tells me that Nate Howard isn't sitting there with a calculator and a knife-sharpened pencil figuring this out. Something tells me that there is an automated system.
Still, the games were more important than the players of the month, so I am pulling an all-nighter on a Saturday night to give you the baseball fans all the information you're hungering for. Please tell me you actually read what I write! Contact me through terminal mail @PublickOccurrences. Remember, One K, two C's, and two R's. If you're an insider and have ESAU access, I can also be reached at #NatWK.
We have players of the month, and an update on the Boston Minor Union, but I will have to get to that last part following tomorrow's schedule of games.
This year, the CBO is calculating service time. New players and players who were on the active roster below a certain number of days are considered "rookies" in 2297. Therefore, this season, we will add rookie awards to the mix, to go along with a top manager award at the conclusion of the season in each league.

Cincinnatus Chosen IL's Best Newcomer: For an old man, in baseball terms, 30-year-old George Cincinnatus has been mighty fortunate to get to the big leagues and have the opportunity to show what he can do. In April the battle-weary newcomer finally made a splash as he won the Institute League Rookie of the Month Award today.
He posted a 1-0 record with 10 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.77 in 11.2 innings.

April's #1 RL Rookie Named: Odysseus Blades is an old man by baseball standards. In fact, after so many years of being overlooked, the 30-year-old rookie for Shaw HS is a bit surprised himself that he's living the good life right now. In April Blades reeled off a 1-0 record in 0 starts as he claimed the Railroad League Rookie of the Month Award.
He posted an ERA of 1.50 with 5 strikeouts in 6 innings and held opponents to a .143 average.
