13 May 2297 - University Point Trades Farland for Two Dwellers

Trade winds have been blowing through University Point. This time, a deal has materialized between the Deathclaws and the Vault 81 Dwellers. According to sources inside the organization, University Point will ship 25-year-old LF Sam Farland to Vault 81 for 26-year-old RHP Danny Hitless and 29-year-old minor league 2B Flunk Domino.

Farland, the 16th-round pick of the Deathclaws in the 2296 Inaugural Draft was disappointed moving into a backup role in 2297. In 2296, he is hitting .222 in 2297 with a double. He finished 2296 batting .348 with 2 home runs and 34 RBI.

Hitless appeared in eight games for the Dwellers, pitching 18 innings. The 17th-round pick in the Inaugural Draft has an ERA of 3.50.

Domino was a regular on the Dwellers in 2296, appearing in 38 games and starting 19 at second base. However, he was demoted to the minor league unit, the Mass Pike Interchange Robobrains, in 2297. In 15 starts, he was batting .264 with a home run and 5 RBI. He was originally drafted in the 20th round of the 2296 Inaugural Draft by Finch Farm. However he was released and then claimed by Vault 81 before the start of the season.

13 May 2297 - BL: Bloodbugs Rocked By Ghouls, 13-2

The Slog center fielder Millioncap Go made his presence felt in the 13-2 Ghouls triumph over the County Crossing Bloodbugs. Go went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 times. The win gives The Slog a season record of 10-6.

It could have been a different outcome for The Slog, had it not been for OK Dustin, the 23-year old left fielder . Dustin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put The Slog up, 1-0.

"We'll savor this win," Dustin told the The Slog Observer, "then get ready for the next game."

Finch Farm 6 at Nordhagen Beach 10
Tomas Jones helped power the Party Boys to victory. He was 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, three runs, and three RBI. Julian Shed (2-1) earned the victory. He had a shutout going until the 7th inning when he gave up five. Nordhagen Beach had 8 extra-base hits out of its 15 total.

Easy Town 5 at Salem 12
Dan Catman was on fire, hitting in all five of his at bats. He scored four times and knocked in a run. Terrence Artman improved his record to 2-3 with the win.

13 May 2297 - IL: Lady Killers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win

Starlight Lady Killers starter City Moore pitched a strong game against the Lexington Synths at Valentine Detective Agency Field, leading the Lady Killers to victory, 6-3. Larry Undertaker was called on to finish, recording his 9th save. The victory gives Starlight a record of 12-4.

Starlight took a 4-3 lead on Hope Scrapper's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Scrapper hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Lexington pitcher Pete Pembroke visibly frustrated.

Moore told a Starlight Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win. "Beer tastes better after a win," he said.

Concord 8 at Sunshine Tidings 3
The 8-3 Concord win over Sunshine Tidings was due in large part to Dan Erb. The Radstags left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Radstags now own a record of 7-9.

Concord used the clutch hitting of Jason Robinson to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Radstags ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

Abernathy 4 at Fort Hagen 3
Abernathy beat Fort Hagen on the strength of starter Jason Woods's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Woods got the win, improving to 1-4. He allowed 10 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Woods allowed 3 runs. Abernathy, with the win, climbs to 4-12.

Jim Waples, the 19-year old second baseman, had a direct impact on the outcome. Waples contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Abernathy up, 3-2.

13 May 2297 - ML: Eloquent Lays Hammer Down in 9-1 Win

The Goodneighbor Hancocks got a good effort from starter Quincy Eloquent in defeating the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at Red Rockets Stadium. The final score was 9-1. The win puts Goodneighbor at 11-5 this season.

Eloquent scattered 5 hits over 9 innings for the Hancocks. With the win, Eloquent moves to 5-1 on the year with 36 strikeouts.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Goodneighbor manager Jeremy Whiteplate.

Atom 6 at Quincy 4
The Atom Cats picked up a win at The Stone House, knocking off the Quincy Gunners, 6-4. Starting pitcher Matt "Ace in the Hole" Hope played a key role in the triumph. Hope, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. Freedom Williams collected his 2nd save.

Atom relied on the hitting of Shane "Bee's Knees" Stabb to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cats on top, 5-3. For the game, Stabb had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Warwick 3 at Univerity Point 2
The Warwick Mirelurks picked up a win at Gwinnett Brewery Park, taking down the University Point Deathclaws, 3-2. Starting pitcher John Diner was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Diner surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Pem Pollack earned the save, his 4th, for the Mirelurks.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Melon Sanderson? The Warwick right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mirelurks on top, 3-0. For the game, Sanderson had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

13 May 2297 - RL: Knuckle Punchers Humble Dwellers, 21-3

Led by Tony Acosta, the Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers downed the Vault 81 Dwellers, 21-3. Acosta was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7 for the Knuckle Punchers. Shaw HS raised its record to 8-8 with the win.

With Shaw HS leading 11-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Acosta came up to bat against Vault 81 pitcher Alex Godcomplex. Acosta hit a sinker to left-center for a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season put the Knuckle Punchers on top, 14-2.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Acosta told the Shaw HS Today.

The 7th inning was particularly brutal when the Punchers scored 12 runs to pull away from what was already a 9-2 lead.

Brad Westing (2-2) matched his win total in 2296 in pitching the complete-game victory. He gave up three runs, two earned, on eight hits with 11 strikeouts.

Diamond City 1 at Fairline Hill Estates 7
Fairline Hill Estates starter Bow Rome had a strong outing against the Diamond City Swatters at BosCom Circle. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-1 win. With the win, Fairline Hill Estates pushed its record to 8-8.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Rome, who tallied 6 strikeouts in 9 innings and allowed only 5 hits. Rome, who is tied for 3rd in the RL with a 1.24 WHIP, raised his record to 3-3 on the year with 25 strikeouts.

Egret 9 at Oberland 5
Egret right fielder Crops Gerdenheimer played a vital role in his team's 9-5 triumph over Oberland. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Egret. Egret pitcher Phil Wallace got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Sheng Kawolski got the loss. The win for the Scrappers lifted their record to 9-7.

Egret took a 5-2 lead on Gerdenheimer's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Sheng Kawolski in the top of the sixth, propelled Egret to the win.
