14 May 2297 - BL: Ghouls Drop Bloodbugs, 10-2

The The Slog Ghouls beat the County Crossing Bloodbugs, 10-2 to move into sole possession of first place. The Slog pitcher and Chester, Massachusetts, native David Kiwi led the way. The first-place Ghouls have a one-game lead in their division.

In the top of the third, OK Dustin hit a bases-clearing double. The 8th double of the season for the The Slog left fielder put the Ghouls on top, 5-2.

"The Ghouls definitely had our number," said County Crossing manager Biff Future.

Easy Town 3 at Salem 8
Salem left fielder Tyler Spronk made his presence felt in the 8-3 Witch Hats triumph over the Easy Town Assaultrons. Spronk was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Salem now has a 3-game win streak.

In the bottom of the fifth, Pistol Schmidt delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Salem third baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Witch Hats in front, 8-3.

Finch Farm 3 at Nordhagen Beach 5
Getting a good performance from first baseman Dustin Mart, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys defeated the Finch Farm Four Leafs, 5-3. Mart went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Party Boys. Picking up the win was Tommy Beach. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 3. The save went to Sia Abber, his 4th this season.

The Party Boys got a big at-bat from shortstop Taboo Richardson. For the game, Richardson was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Nordhagen Beach a 3-2 lead.

14 May 2297 - IL: Synths Deal Lady Killers 10-7 Loss

Behind the hitting of Crooked Tostado, the Lexington Synths stopped the Starlight Lady Killers, 10-7. Tostado went 3 for 5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Synths. Adam Bias collected his 8th save. The win puts Lexington at 10-7 this season.

Lexington grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Tostado, who finished 2nd in the IL in OPS with 1.089 last year, hit a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season put the Synths out in front, 5-4.

"We played hard and won," said Tostado. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy."

Abernathy 3 at Fort Hagen 7
Fort Hagen Silver Shroud starter All Day Acosta was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Abernathy Adamantium, 7-3. Curtis Thriceshot got the save, the 4th for him this season. The win puts the Silver Shroud at 8-9, while the Adamantium drop to 4-13.

In the bottom of the fourth, Fort Hagen first baseman Jim Tiller had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Tiller stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 6-2, Fort Hagen. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Concord 0 at Sunshine Tidings 2
Tim Fusion hurled a fine game for the Sunshine Tidings Chemists at ArcJet Systems Stadium today, holding the Concord Radstags to 3 hits in a shutout win.The left-hander had 11 strikeouts and no walks in the 2-0 victory. In 6 starts this season Fusion has gathered 3 wins while suffering 2 losses. He has pitched 49 innings, allowed 42 hits, struck out 44 and has a 2.94 ERA.

14 May 2297 - ML: Hancocks Top Red Rockets, 10-1, Behind Iddings

Goodneighbor starter Bruce Iddings kept the Jamaica Plain hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 10-1. The Hancocks, at 12-5, lead by one game in their division.

Jamaica Plain could barely put a dent in Iddings. The left-hander tossed 139 pitches over 9 innings for the Hancocks, allowing only 5 hits.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Goodneighbor manager Jeremy Whiteplate.

Warwick 5 at University Point 4
The Warwick Mirelurks picked up a win at Gwinnett Brewery Park, knocking off the University Point Deathclaws, 5-4. On the mound for Warwick was right-hander Justin Sphinx, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the victory, the Mirelurks upped their record to 11-6.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Shane Noteman came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing University Point pitcher William Radwater, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Warwick on top, 5-4.

Atom 5 at Quincy 7
Quincy center fielder Jessie Jerky was a significant contributor in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Atom Cats. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Quincy. The winning pitcher was Manny McDuff. He tossed 118 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 11 hits. The win elevated the Gunners to 11-6.

Jerky had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a double. The Gunners went on to win.

14 May 2297 - RL: Quickwalker Slugs Dwellers to 8-4 Win

The Vault 81 Dwellers powered past the Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers, 8-4, at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. Deer Quickwalker was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Vault 81 pitcher Alex Godcomplex got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Nick Mutfruit got the loss. Vault 81 occupies 5th place in the Railroad League at 7-10.

Mark Dombrowski made it 5-4 in favor of Vault 81 when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Dwellers went on to win.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Dombrowski told BNN.

Egret 5 at Oberland 6
Led by Prof Castillo, the Oberland T-51s downed the Egret Scrappers, 6-5. Castillo went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the T-51s. The victory gives Oberland a record of 13-4.

Chris Milteer was the walk-off hero for Oberland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the T-51s shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Diamond City 5 at Fairline Hill Estates 10
The Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai beat the Diamond City Swatters by a score of 10-7. Catcher Gup Rodgers deserved the lion's share of the credit. Rodgers was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for the Yao Guai. Fairline Hill Estates raised its record to 9-8 with the win.

Nick Waterpipe aided the Fairline Hill Estates cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
