27 May 2297 - BL: Tentsleep Helps The Slog Cruise to 10-3 Win

The Slog Ghouls topped the Finch Farm Four Leafs by a score of 10-3. Leading the way was shortstop Lernz Tentsleep. Tentsleep went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Ghouls. The winning pitcher was Edwin Mass. He tossed 116 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The win puts The Slog at 14-8 this season.

With The Slog trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Tentsleep hit a 2-run single off Finch Farm hurler Matt Pageturner. It was the 36th hit of the season for Tentsleep and put his team ahead, 2-1.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Tentsleep told the The Slog Observer.

Salem 1 at Nordhagen Beach 3
The Salem Witch Hats went down to defeat to Julian Shed and his Nordhagen Beach teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Party Boys. Shed, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Nordhagen Beach now has a 3-game win streak.

Michael Fogcrawler, who finished 2nd in the BL in home runs with 18 last year, chipped in for Nordhagen Beach with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

County Crossing 6 at Easy Town 1
Easy Town Field was the site for Brotherhood League action featuring the Easy Town Assaultrons and County Crossing Bloodbugs.

County Crossing starter Bad Company Grognak had a strong outing against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Easy Town Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-1 win. With the win, County Crossing raised its record to 13-9.

It could have been a different outcome for County Crossing, had it not been for Dave Tattoo, the 28-year old center fielder . Tattoo contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put County Crossing up, 1-0.

27 May 2297 – IL: Adamantium Stay Hot, Beat Chemists, 11-7

The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Abernathy fans at Tato Field.

The Abernathy Adamantium grabbed a win, 11-7, over the Sunshine Tidings Chemists at Tato Field. Abernathy shortstop Austin Engill went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Adamantium, at 9-13, have now won 5 straight.

Making an impact for the home team was Radio Short. In the bottom of the sixth, the 30-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 7-5, Adamantium.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Engill said.

Lexington 6 at Concord 8
The Concord Radstags topped the Lexington Synths, 8-6, with youngster Ricky Ticky Laughy playing a key role. Laughy was 2 for 2 with 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 times for the Radstags in the win. Concord pitcher Giving Tree got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Tom Chryslus got the loss. Getting the save was Bell Franklin, his 1st.

Concord took a 8-6 lead on Dan Erb's 6th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Erb hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Lexington pitcher Tom Chryslus shaking his head.

Fort Hagen 3 at Starlight 4
Starlight beat Fort Hagen on the strength of starter City Moore's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Starlight reliever Larry Undertaker was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Curtis Thriceshot. Starlight has now won 4 games in a row.

Glenn Higinbotham was the walk-off hero for Starlight. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lady Killers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring triple to send the teams home.

27 May 2297 – ML: Driftwood Stars in 13-9 Gunners Win

David Driftwood added some punch to the Quincy offense, helping them outmuscle the Goodneighbor Hancocks, 13-9. In the game, Driftwood, who is tied for 2nd in the ML in runs scored with 22, went 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Rapid Roberts, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits. With the win, the Gunners have a record of 15-7.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brian Drinkwater? The Quincy first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Gunners on top, 3-0. For the game, Drinkwater had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Driftwood.

Jamaica Plain 9 at University Point 7
The 9-7 Jamaica Plain win over University Point was due in large part to Hid Matsumoto. The Red Rockets center fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Steven Rockman was credited with the save for Jamaica Plain, his 5th of the season. The triumph makes Jamaica Plain 7-15.

Steve Baron aided the Jamaica Plain cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1.

Warwick 3 at Atom 4, 12 inn.
The Atom Cats picked up a win at Coolest Field in Town, knocking off the Warwick Mirelurks, 4-3 in 12 innings. Starting pitcher Matt "Ace in the Hole" Hope played a key role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Chris Leggman. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Atom, with the win, sits at 7-15.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 12th, an error by the Mirelurks allowed the Cats to score the winning run.

27 May 2297 – RL: Swatters Top Dwellers, 2-1, Behind Mannson

Diamond City and Vault 81 duked it out and the Swatters came out victorious.

The Diamond City Swatters got a good effort from starter X10-44 Mannson in defeating the Vault 81 Dwellers at The Great Green Jewel. The final score was 2-1. Josh Samm picked up the save, his 5th.

Mannson, who dominated for Diamond City, earned the victory to move to 3-5. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. Vault 81 batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Mannson.

The win has Diamond City at 8-14.

Oberland 7 at Shaw 1
The Oberland T-51s beat the Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers, 7-1, at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. The T-51s got a fine performance from left fielder Prof Castillo, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Oberland raised its record to 15-7 with the win.

Bloatfly Williams, the 19-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Williams contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Oberland up, 3-1.

Fairline Hill Estates 10 at Egret 4
In the 10-4 Fairline Hill Estates win over Egret, the impact of Hose Wallcrawler was substantial. Wallcrawler, who leads the RL with a 1.395 OPS, went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The winner was Bow Rome, who threw 127 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. With the win, Fairline Hill Estates upped its record to 11-11.

Wallcrawler contributed in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Fairline Hill Estates get the win.
