But, good grief. I will choose not to watch any highlights.
Is talking up Matz as #2 through now? I mean, I love Matzie. He has infinite credit for the absolute riot that was his debut in '15. But he spoils in the pressure cooker. He's best used as a #5 with no expectations whatsoever.
Edit: I see Guillorme pitched a scoreless ninth? **** Sewald, put that kid in the pen!

There were no highlights, so don't feel guilty about that!
I love Matz too, and not just for that game. I'm a sucker for the locals that Fred and Jeff bring "home". I've never subscribed to all the "mentally weak" arguments, but boy were his shoulders slumpy last night, and they had a shot of him in the dugout after he departed staring at the field like a zombie. In some ways he reminds me of Jonathan Sanchez, although his pure stuff isn't as good and he's not as nutty as El Guapo. But like with Sanchez I wonder if Matz could be more effective out of the bullpen, maybe limiting his pitch selection some. I'd try it, but this year they'll have a hard enough time finding bodies to throw innings for the rest of the Jamboree.
I don't get what they see in Sewald other than his ability to convert oxygen into carbon dioxide and have a number next to his name under "IP" in the box score. If they had any of the 47,000 pitching prospects they traded over the last 5 years for utility players they might have other options next year!
