Brotherhood League
BL's #1 Batter Chosen: Lernz Tentsleep made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Brotherhood League this past month.
The The Slog Ghouls shortstop shined through the month of May and has won the Batter of the Month award.
The 19-year-old hit .414 with 6 home runs, 20 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
BL #1 Pitcher in May is The Slog's Kiwi: In May, when the name of David Kiwi appeared on the The Slog lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 4 times and chalked up 4 wins and no losses. With those stats it was also a virtual lock that he would be named the Brotherhood League Pitcher of the Month.
Kiwi shackled opposing batters on 31 base hits and a .244 batting average. He rang up 20 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work, surrendered 8 walks and fashioned a sparkling 1.56 ERA.
Salem Reliever Best Rookie: Max Grove might not have fully digested the impact of winning May's Brotherhood League Rookie of the Month award when he got the news earlier today, but the 17-year-old quickly learned that he was no longer your typical rookie.
Posting a mark of 2-0 won-lost record will do that. In 0 starts he tossed 11.1 innings with 8 strikeouts and a 3.18 ERA. Opposing teams hit .233 against him during the month.
Not bad for a first-year man.
Institute League
Concord's Erb Winner, IL Best Hitter in May: Concord Radstags fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in May.
Dan Erb put up a remarkable month at the age of 20 and has been named the Institute League Batter of the Month.
For the month, Erb hit .490 with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
Institute League Announces Best Starter: Chris Radsco hasn't been around long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Institute League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice.
In May the Concord starter earned a 2-1 mark in 4 starts. He threw 29.2 innings, struck out 38 and compiled a solid 2.43 ERA.
IL Best Newcomer Trophy Awarded: May's Rookie of the Month Award in the Institute League went to T-Bone Heagy of Abernathy.
He was outstanding in 0 starts last month as he notched 1 win and no losses, a 1.29 ERA and 6 strikeouts in 7 innings.
Minutemen League
Mungo Grabs ML Best Batter Award for May: Carlos Mungo may be getting older, but he's evidently not slowing down.
The Goodneighbor Hancocks catcher is the Minutemen League Batter of the Month for May after posting a stellar campaign.
Mungo batted .432, hit 1 home run, drove in 13 runs, scored 14 times and compiled a .544 on-base percentage.
Iddings Gets May's Top Pitcher Trophy: Bruce Iddings has made fans throughout Minutemen League take notice over the past month with an exceptional 3-1 record. No pitcher in the Minutemen League threw better in May, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 4 starts Iddings compiled a 3.09 ERA, putting up a 3-1 record, striking out 40 and tossing 32 innings.
Kovalenko Grades Out as May's Top Rookie: One of the bright young starters in the Minutemen League, Dave Kovalenko is living up to the potential that Mirelurks scouts thought might be there.
As a starter for Warwick, Kovalenko paced his team with a 3-1 record in May to earn himself Rookie of the Month accolades.
He made 5 starts, tossed 37.1 innings, struck out 29 batters and allowed the opposition to hit .221 against him.
Railroad League
Wallcrawler Garners RL Batter of the Month Award: At only 19 years of age, Hose Wallcrawler could very well be having many more months like the last this in his career.
That would be great news for fans of the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai, as May was one to remember for the shortstop and he has captured the Railroad League Batter of the Month award.
On the month he hit .442 with 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
Udder Stands Out, Choice for Best Pitcher: Matt Udder took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Railroad League Pitcher of the Month award for May.
The 26-year-old T-51s starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 3-1 won-lost record in 5 starts. This month he fanned 23 batters in 34.1 innings and compiled a 4.19 ERA.
RL Picks Rookie of the Month: It was an awesome May for Jake Jennings. The young Diamond City starter surprised opponents all month and today was announced as the Railroad League Rookie of the Month.
In 0 starts he registered a 1-0 record and racked up 15 strikeouts and a 3.71 ERA in 17 innings.
