4 June 2297 - Bugwing Hits in 25 Straight Games
Stoop Bugwing collected 2 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 25 games. His club, the The Slog Ghouls, beat the Salem Witch Hats 11-2.
"Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Bugwing quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking."
Stoop Bugwing singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Front Porch Potter in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This year Bugwing has hit at a .422 clip with 32 RBIs, 5 home runs and 18 runs scored.
4 June 2297 - 20-Game Hitting Streak for Lurkcakes
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Random Lurkcakes did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at The Homestead today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 26-year-old first baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Warwick Mirelurks beat the Quincy Gunners 6-3 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Lurkcakes told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Warwick clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day."
Random Lurkcakes grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
This season Lurkcakes has hit at a .402 clip with 14 RBIs, 0 home runs and 14 runs scored.
