We wasted little time trying to remove some cap space, as we were floating at 85m with the salary only being allowed to be 89M
First we shopped Bryan Rust, as he only has 1 year left on his contract and we expect he's going to want a raise with his past accomplishments and his career high 64 points last season. We had hits from 8 teams. Teams including Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington and etc.
We decided to accept the offer from the San Jose Sharks,
24YR Centre, Jayden Halbgewachs
He has a career defying season with the SJB of the AHL, posting 32 points in 64 games (11 Goals, 32 Assists). With a cap hit of 700K it made a lot of sense to take on the young two-way forward.
