If you have been following stadium news closely, you know that the
City of Anaheim recently sold Arte Moreno the 153 acres around Angel Stadium for less than
the cost of one Mike Trout Contract. There have been a lot of rumors about what the redevelopment will look like, including a possible environment like Ballpark Village in St. Louis. I decided to take a run at a renovation of Angel Stadium.
The park itself is in the spirit of the old donuts and was once the host for the NFL Rams as well as the Angels, so I decided to renovate it and make it feel more baseball specific. One thing I decided to do was bring back some of the spirit of the old
Wrigley Field (the LA Version). I chopped off the top deck and redid the exterior in the spirit of the old Wrigley Field, including a bell tower behind first base:
I built up the surrounding area with a few businesses and other apartment building structures.
I decided to do some more extensive renovations of the outfield area. In left I added a Mission building (... my favorite type of building to add) and I brought the old Angel Stadium A back into center field.
In right I took out some bleachers and added a warehouse style building as well as a party deck (because that's how we will get the millennials...):
The stadium has the same dimensions as the actual Angel Stadium, so the park factors remain the same. You can simply load the .obj in the Angel Stadium field if you want to use it in game, or you can load the .prk file.
