26 June 2297 - BL: Ghouls Make It 5 In a Row with 7-3 Triumph Over Finch Farm

The Slog left-hander Dan Dozier pitched his team to victory over the Finch Farm Four Leafs at Tarberry Field Forever. The final score was 7-3. Dozier picked up the win for The Slog, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. The Slog has 5 straight wins, Finch Farm 3 straight losses.

A defensive miscue in the bottom of the sixth cost the Four Leafs. With The Slog trailing 3-2, Stoop Bugwing reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. The Slog ended up winning the ballgame.

"This was a good win for us," said Dozier. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

County Crossing 7 at Easy Town 9
Easy Town center fielder Sean Samuels was a significant contributor in his team's 9-7 triumph over the County Crossing Bloodbugs. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Easy Town. The triumph puts Easy Town at 19-17 for the season.

Samuels contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Easy Town in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 6-5, Samuels took a forkball from Boss Gentleman and stroked the home run to center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Assaultrons to leap in front, 8-6.

Salem 5 at Nordhagen Beach 7
The Salem Witch Hats got a superb performance from center fielder Mike Castillo, but the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys still won the game, 7-5. Castillo hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Casey Diehl got credit for the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 6.1 innings.

Casey Diehl's at-bat in the bottom of the second inning was a big one for Nordhagen Beach. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Nordhagen Beach trailing 2-1, the pitcher hit a sacrifice fly.

26 June 2297 - DHPL: Cartrette Fires 4-0 One-Hitter

Mike Cartrette was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He led the Breakheart Banks Wasteland Whisperers to victory 4-0, blanking the Outpost Zimonja Strongbacks on 1 hit. He had 4 walks and 14 strikeouts.

"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," Outpost Zimonja skipper David Troutman told reporters after the shutout loss. "He just had a real deceptive fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."

This year Cartrette has a 8-4 record and a 3.42 ERA.Last season with Salem, Cartrette was 6-3 with a 5.09 ERA in 14 starts.

Some have wondered why Cartrette is not at least the third pitcher with the Witch Hats behind Terrence Artman and Front Porch Potter. The current third pitcher, Roberto Gonzales, is 1-5 with a 7.32 ERA after losing to Nordhagen Beach today.

26 June 2297 - IL: Radstags Prevail, 7-6, Over Lexington

Getting a good performance from center fielder Ricky Ticky Laughy, the Concord Radstags defeated the Lexington Synths, 7-6. Laughy went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Radstags. The win for the Radstags raised their record to 19-17.

Shawn Cherry dealt the Synths a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Concord leading 5-4, Cherry, who is tied for 6th in the IL with a .377 batting average, hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single.

"Feels good to get the job done," Laughy said after the game.

Sunshine Tidings 8 at Abernathy 7
Abernathy shortstop Austin Engill had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Engill was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as Sunshine Tidings beat the Adamantium, 8-7. Danny Beerholder, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Sunshine Tidings occupies last place in the Institute League at 15-21.

Sunshine Tidings used the clutch hitting of Joe Provisioner to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Chemists the lead, 8-7. For the game, Provisioner had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

Fort Hagen 11 at Starlight 6
Jim Tiller impressed in the 11-6 Fort Hagen win over Starlight. Tiller, who is tied for 10th in the IL with a .959 OPS, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 6. The 5th-place Silver Shroud improved to 16-20.

Early in the game, Tiller had a 2-run double for Fort Hagen. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Silver Shroud on top, 2-0.

26 June 2297 - ML: Gunners Win at Goodneighbor, Tie for First

Robbie Adams made an impact in the 8-7 Quincy win over Goodneighbor. Adams, who is tied for 5th in the ML in triples with 2, was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Quincy pitcher Martin Talleyrand got the win. He's now 1-0. John Oldsink was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Gunners upped their record to 22-14.

It could have been a different outcome for Quincy, had it not been for Dan Derp, the 25-year old second baseman . Derp contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Quincy up, 8-7.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Derp said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Warwick 11 at Atom 3
A good performance from left fielder Patty Cuttooth helped the Warwick Mirelurks defeat the Atom Cats, 11-3, and gain a share of first place. Cuttooth went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 times for the Mirelurks. Warwick now has a record of 22-14 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Warwick, had it not been for Shawn Robco, the 23-year old center fielder . Robco contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Warwick up, 6-3.

Jamaica Plain 13 at University Point 7
With left fielder Bryan Benton leading the charge, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets defeated the University Point Deathclaws, 13-7, at Gwinnett Brewery Park. Benton was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. The Red Rockets sport a record of 13-23.

Jamaica Plain used the timely hitting of Steve Baron to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Rockets on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

26 June 2297 - RL: Yao Guai Get 6-4 Win Versus Egret

The Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai beat the Egret Scrappers by a score of 6-4. center fielder Noah Arch deserved the lion's share of the credit. Arch went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles for the Yao Guai. Papa Bush picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-4. He struck out 12 in 7.2 innings. Earning his 3rd save for Fairline Hill Estates was Dave Crowfoot.

With Fairline Hill Estates leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Arch hit a run-scoring single off Egret hurler Brian Dingo. It was the 64th hit of the season for Arch and put his team ahead, 4-2.

Arch expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."

Fairline Hill Estates now owns a record of 16-20.

Vault 81 3 at Diamond City 7
Getting offensive support from Nasty Byrd, the Diamond City Swatters topped the Vault 81 Dwellers, 7-3. Byrd went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Swatters. The Swatters raised their record to 13-23.

Diamond City took a 7-3 lead on Byrd's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Danny Rocketman in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Diamond City to the win.

Oberland 6 at Shaw 7
Behind a fine performance from Travis Phillips, the Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers knocked off the Oberland T-51s, 7-6. Phillips went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs for the Knuckle Punchers. The save went to Tom Mannequin, number 6 for him.

Damani Beebe, who is tied for 2nd in the RL in total bases with 117, contributed to the Shaw HS win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
