Done deal! The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys have agreed to send 26-year-old C Dan Neofotistos and 17-year-old minor league RHP Evan Before to the Lexington Synths for 20-year-old minor league RF Chris Faith and 18-year-old minor league LHP Derek Gist. The trade, rumored for days, was completed in the wee hours this morning.
So far this year, Neofotistos is batting .254 with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs.
Faith was the third-round pick of the 2296 Rookie Draft for the Union Hope Cathedral Life Givers. In seven games, he was 1 for 4. Gist started 15 games for the Life Givers. He was 7-7 with a 2.73 ERA.
The Party Boys plan to move Gist to the CBO roster while Faith will go to the Greentop Nursery Night People.
13 July 2297 - Nordhagen Beach Trades Wheat for Shaw HS's Vaultick
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Nordhagen Beach will part with 34-year-old minor league 3B Buck Wheat and 20-year-old minor league RF Maxx Murtagh, while the Knuckle Punchers have dealt 30-year-old RHP Jason Vaultick.
"This one took a while to figure out," said Nordhagen Beach general manager Brendan Kneecapped. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."
Wheat on the season is batting .200 with 1 home run. His totals include 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. He has played in 9 games.
Vaultick appeared in eight games for the Knuckle Punchers. In 7.2 innings, he allowed five earned runs (5.87 EA) on 11 hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

The Party Boys got a good chance to deal with Lexington where the Synths needed an improvement and the Party Boys needed a prospect. I thought Faith was a really good pick up in place of their backup catcher, Neo-something-something.
And then the second trade happened. Faith may be better than Murtagh, I don't know, but Vaultick is now the second-rated relief pitcher behind Sia Abber and third overall behind Shed and Abber.
I don't want to jinx the Boys, but I think they improved their prospect pool AND improved their bullpen in their two trades.

I just watched Game One against the defending champions. Let's see how the Boys are going to look in this one.
