To be honest the biggest issue is speed, it takes 5-6 seconds usually to advance one day at a time so during the regular season when games are being played in every league, I usually sim month to month or even longer. I have turned FaceGen off entirely to limit the filesize as well which I feel has helped.

There are also some difficulties with having to create and delete league associations every year and manually push back League Events (Offseason Start, Free Agency Start, etc.) because I have the World Champions League tournament come after the Association Playoffs. But that's more due to my preference for how the format works.

I guess one other workaround is that the World Champions League is supposed to be the most "prestigious" but the game doesn't recognize tournament teams as the same franchise in whatever league, MLB, USBA, etc., as in there's no financials, there's no mark on the team history index for having made it. So I manually reward WCL teams by increasing their available cash based on how far they advance.
