At age 41, Philadelphia right fielder David Beane remains an offensive force in the game (and is even an acceptable fielder, in spite of being extremely slow of foot), but with the news yesterday that he suffered a torn PCL that will keep him away from the game for at least 9 months, one has to wonder if this is the end of the line for the 4-time All-Star.
He had joined the Mud Hens on a 1-year contract as a free agent this off-season and having suffered such a serious injury it seems a stretch to think that he could come back for his age 42 season next year.
