12 August 2297 - Ghouls Clinch Brotherhood League
In addition to The Slog Ghouls' dramatic victory over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, the Ghouls have also clinched the Brotherhood League.
After sneaking into the CBO playoffs last season, the Ghouls went on to win it all, surprising themselves as much as any other team. This season, it's more of the same in The Slog.
"It's exciting to know that we are such a force in the CBO," Ghouls general manager Plop Wyman said. "After last year, it wouldn't be a surprise to shut it down. However, these ghous are still hungry!"
Right now, The Slog is tied with the Minutemen League's Goodneighbor Hancocks for the CBO's second-best record. Neither team will catch the team in our next story.
12 August 2297 - T-51s Secure #1 Seed
Following their 6-1 domination of Fairline Hill Estates, the Oberland T-51s at 40-15 can now claim the #1 seed in the CBO playoffs. The 40 victories is just one shy of their 2296 record when they finished 41-19 and tied the Warwick Mirelurks for the best regular season record in the CBO.
Oberland still has five more regular season games to beat that record from last year. In the playoffs, they will meet the #8 seed, which looks like it will be the wildcard team from either the Brotherhood, Institute, or Railroad Leagues.
