13 August 2297 - BL: Party Boys Rally For 5-3 Win

Nordhagen Beach rode a decent outing from starter Tommy Beach to victory over the The Slog Ghouls. The final score was 5-3. Nordhagen Beach now has a record of 29-27 with the win.

Nordhagen Beach needed the clutch hitting of Michael Fogcrawler to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 5-1. For the game, Fogcrawler had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Beach told the Nordhagen Beach Chronicle.

Beach (4-5) pitched 8.0 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Sia Abber came on in relief after Chet Arthur allowed two runs to pitch the final 2/3 of the inning and earned his 16th save.

Finch Farm 3 at Easy Town 4
Joe Ransom did a number on the Four Leafs in the Easy Town 4-3 victory today, and the number was 5. The Assaultrons first baseman banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Easy Town Field to lead his club past the Finch Farm Four Leafs.

"I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Joe Ransom doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this season Ransom has hit .298 with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 41 times.

Salem 1 at County Crossing 3
In a low-scoring clash between County Crossing and Salem, pitcher Zach DiGrande was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. William Whitehurst converted his 10th save in 12 tries. County Crossing is 4th in the Brotherhood League with a record of 26-30.

County Crossing took a 3-1 lead on Brian Fuller's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Salem pitcher Terrence Artman in the bottom of the eighth.

13 August 2297 - IL: Silver Shroud Hapless Against Chemists, Fusion

Getting an impressive start from Tim Fusion, Sunshine Tidings beat Fort Hagen by the score of 7-1. The win puts Sunshine Tidings at 29-27 this season.

Fusion, the winner, is now 10-6 after putting the clamps on the Fort Hagen offense. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 9 Ks.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Fusion.

Starlight 1 at Concord 10
Concord turned a good effort from starter Mario Bustos into a win over the Starlight Lady Killers at Nuka Park. The final score was 10-1. Starlight has now lost 10 consecutive games.

Bustos, now 7-8, scattered 5 hits over 9 innings for the Radstags.

Lexington 1 at Abernathy 0
The Adamantium can take comfort in knowing that they will not have to face Lawdog Whipple again for a while. The 18-year-old hurler pitched a 5-hit shutout to help the Lexington Synths beat Abernathy 1-0. In the process, Whipple struck out 4 and walked 2.

Up to now Whipple has recorded a record of 8-7. In 19 starts he has fanned 76 batters in 125.1 innings with a 5.46 ERA.

13 August 2297 - ML: 6-3 Win Takes Hancocks to 35-21

The Goodneighbor Hancocks beat the Warwick Mirelurks, 6-3. Goodneighbor pitcher and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, native Bruce Iddings led the way. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Bryan Punchline. The win elevated the Hancocks to 35-21.

In the bottom of the fourth, Goodneighbor center fielder John Rose had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Rose stroked a run-scoring triple to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Goodneighbor. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a triple.

"We'll savor this win," Rose told the Goodneighbor Today, "then get ready for the next game."

Should the Hancocks sweep Warwick (32-24) tomorrow, they would clinch the Minutemen League.

University Point 12 at Atom 6
The University Point Deathclaws powered past the Atom Cats, 12-6, at Coolest Field in Town. Ryan Morris was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. University Point is 27-29 and Atom, with the loss, 22-34.

University Point used a timely hit from Chad Morris to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Deathclaws ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Jamaica Plain 1 at Quincy 5
Quincy picked up a win at The Stone House, toppling the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets, 5-1. Pitcher Manny McDuff was one of the reasons the Gunners triumphed. The Red Rockets, at 21-35, have lost 4 straight games.

McDuff made it look easy. He scattered 5 hits over 9 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The left-hander upped his season record to 7-8.

13 August 2297 - DBL: Charles View Ampitheater Beats Trinity Plaza, 9-5

Bobby Thesea was instrumental in his team's 9-5 triumph over the Trinity Plaza Snipers. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Charles View Ampitheater Cannibals. With this game in the books, Charles View Ampitheater is 23-25, Trinity Plaza 33-15.

Charles View Ampitheater used the clutch hitting of Nickles Czerniewski to capture the win. The catcher drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Cannibals the lead, 7-3. For the game, Czerniewski had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Thesea said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Trinity Plaza loss was significant because it clinched the Downtown Boston League regular season title for the Cabot House Rayguns. The Rayguns will now have home-field advantage over the Snipers in the Downtown Boston Series next week.

13 August 2297 - RL: T-51s Beat Yao Guai, 9-2

Oberland right-hander Gerald Jerry pitched his team to victory over the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai at BosCom Circle. The final score was 9-2. In 8 innings, Jerry surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The triumph puts Oberland at 41-15 for the season.

Oberland used a timely hit from Curtis Slingshot to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the T-51s ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Jerry told a Oberland Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

Shaw 10 at Diamond City 7
The Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers topped the Diamond City Swatters, 10-7, with youngster Damani Beebe playing a key role. Beebe was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Knuckle Punchers in the win. Tom Mannequin earned the save for Shaw HS, his 11th of the year. The losses continue to add up for Diamond City, which has now fallen 10 times in a row.

Beebe contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Shaw HS in the top of the third. With his team trailing 3-1, Beebe took a fastball from Mark Stuhlsatz and stroked the home run to left. His 23rd home run of the season allowed the Knuckle Punchers to leap in front, 4-3.

Vault 81 12 at Egret 14
Paladin Danse made an impact in the 14-12 Egret win over Vault 81. Danse, who is tied for 3rd in the RL in total bases with 157, was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Shawn Simms, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The win makes Egret 25-31.

Egret second baseman Dustin Bowfiddle delivered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 5.

13 August 2297 - Beebe Makes History with Home Run

If radchickens dig the long ball, then they're loving Damani Beebe right now. The Shaw HS Knuckle Punchers's right fielder broke the single-season record for home runs with a blast at The Great Green Jewel. It was homer number 23 for Beebe this year. The previous mark was held by Paladin Danse.

Damani Beebe flied out in the 1st and homered off Mark Stuhlsatz in the 3rd.

So far this season Beebe is hitting .333 with 23 home runs, 77 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 77 hits in 231 at-bats and a .368 OBP.
