2039/2040
One of the best regular seasons. Young guys performed very well and improved their rating very well. First overall with 59 wins, 121 points and with 121 goal difference (317:198).
Alexandre Faraldeau, 23 years old center, has a great season. He didn't won the scoring race, was 3., but he had 103 points (53 + 50), +40, 22 PPG and 15 GWG!
Unfortunately, no Stanley Cup. Lost in 1. round. Again. What is wrong with this generation?
Ben McGrogann won his 7. Vezina Trophy.
Btw., my team is real mix of various nationalities. Canada, Russia, Sweden, USA, Finland, Slovakia, Swiss, Germany, Kazakhstan, Nederland, Island, Turk. Yes, i have also players from this 3 exotic countries. But the are only roster fillers, not stars.
Cedric Francis from Washington Capitals had a perfect game – 1 goal + 7 assists by 9:2 win.
Austom Matthews, the last of the grand rio (McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews) retired. He accomplished a lot in his career. But also he didn't won any Stanley Cup. Sad.
Hart Trophy: 1
Maurice Richard: 3
Art Ross: 4
Stanley Cup: 0
World Championships Gold: 5
World Cup Gold: 2
1688 regular season games: 896 + 1053 = 1949
97 playoff games: 45 + 53 = 98
2038/2039
Had to say good bay to 2 long time core players.
Rasmus Dahlin won 6 Stanley Cups with Red Wings, 2 times as a Conn Smythe Trophy winner. He is already 38 years old.
Shane Wright was acquired per trade. He is only 34 years old, but he has no future in my team. Too many injuries in last seasons, very big contract demands and the performance was also declining.
A little bid under performed. Only 1 Conny Smythe and 1 Maurice Richard. Expected more.
Regular season was still good. With 114 points second best in the standings. Robert Brennan with his first Maurice Richard Trophy. He was the only one, who scored 50 goals. And there was only one player with 100+ points.
Karel Danis, 20-years old center, drafted 1. overall in 2038, with first regular season in NHL. And that with 97 points, second best in the league.
