SUN SOX TOP BLACK SOX IN SECOND GAME, TOO
The favored Southport Sun Sox are off to a great start in the 2065 Islandian Pro Alliance Pro Cup Series... the Sun Sox got strong pitching again and topped the Colfax Black Sox 4-0 in the best-of-seven series... the Black Sox lost both games at Pleasure Beach Park in Southport... they are hoping a change of scenery will get them going and get them back competitive in the series... the next three games are slated for Mountain View Stadium in Colfax... game three starters are Bebe Kinney for Southport and Blaine Barkins for Colfax... the 34-year-old Kinney (16-8, 2.55 ERA), a 12-year veteran, will get the call from manager Lorne Evans... and skipper Garry August is hoping Barkins (18-3, 3.32 ERA), age 30, will regain his regular season form... the playoffs have been disastrous for Barkins... the 11-year right-hander has struggled with an 0-2 mark and a sky-high 15.26 ERA in three postseason assignments... Kinney, also a right-hander, is 1-0 in his three playoff starts.
