SJL:
Daniel Riha spent three seasons getting bounced around between the minor leagues and the WPK, including stints with 4 different WPK clubs during the course of the 1976 season, before finally getting a full-season in the San Antonio bullpen in 1977. This season though is his first at the big league level being used as a starter and as indicated by his recent selection to an All-Star game for the first time and the honor of being the SJL's Pitcher of the Month for June, he has enjoyed the transition and the long-awaited opportunity.
MGL:
The long heralded Denver prospect
Jim Atwell started this his rookie season at the back end of the Brewers rotation. Here now at the All-Star break, and having won the June Pitcher of the Month award in the MGL, it is clear that Atwell has already developed into one of the top 3 starters on the team, along with
Sadahige Kawasaki and
Sekien Hamasaki, and in fact is becoming one of the best pitchers in the game.
