For the second time during the 1978 season, the Denver Brewers star first baseman Brett Taranto has put together a hitting streak of at least 20 consecutive games.
Taranto continues to easily lead the MGL in batting average and holds a very narrow edge in the RBI category as well, though he is unlikely to get the kind of home run numbers needed to mount a real Triple Crown threat.
In other news, his teammate Bobby Erbakan saw his recent hitting streak end at 16 straight games, having walked in his final two plate appearances in yesterday's loss to San Francisco.
