Following the 'free and easy' mantra from Barry Larkin's clubhouse interview during the celebration of their post season berth; Waffletown put aside the regular season 6-13 record versus top seed and division rival Weston Pointe and just played good, solid baseball.

After putting a smackdown on the Caspers in game 1 (where the Syrups scored 8 runs in the first inning en route to an 11-5 victory); they dropped a close match in game 2 (7-6 walk off win for Weston Pointe); but did what they needed to do by snatching one win on the road.

At home, Waffletown is a different beast (51-30 during the regular season), and they put that home field advantage to use, with a 3-1 win in game 3, and a series clinching 5-1 win in game 4 to head to the LCS.

Todd Helton was awarded the series MVP for his performance at the plate (9 for 17, 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, .529/.579/1.118)

Waffletown will head to Beaver College for the LCS. The two teams met 7 times during the regular season with the Syrups taking the series 4 games to 3.
