17 April 2298 - Oberland Drops First Game
The Goodneighbor Hancocks racked up a win at Third Rail Stadium at S. Boston HS, bumping off the Oberland T-51s, 6-4. John Oldsink, who started for Goodneighbor, pitched effectively for his team. Earning his 6th save of the year was Bryan Punchline. The defeat makes Oberland 9-1.
Had Jumper Hayes not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Hayes hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Hancocks.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Oldsink.
