Tied 1-1, Seth Beer and Matt Wallner hit back-to-back solo homers off St. Louis starting pitcher Angel Tiburcio, helping lift Evansville to a 3-2 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
The victory gave the Bosses victories in three of the four games in the series.
Beer's homer came with one out and Wallner hit his while facing an 0-2 count.
An RBI single from pinch-hitter Jordan Groshans off Evansville reliever Andrew Ryan in the bottom of the seventh made it 3-2.
But the Walkers squandered a number of chances in the final four innings, as the Bosses came out with the win.
Evansville starting pitcher Enrique Castillo (3-1), allowed one run on three hits over the first 5.2 innings.
Andrew Ryan finished the sixth and got the first two outs of the seventh, before giving way to Randy Jones, who finished the inning.
Ryan Crook pitched a scoreless eighth.
Jeff Young did the same in the ninth for his first save.
