Walkers news: May 1 -- Milwaukee 5, St. Louis 4

Record: 14-15, 3rd (Tied/w. Des Moines), 3 GB Quad City
Pinch-hitter Alex Bohm led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a homer off St. Louis reliever Cory Tiller, and that was enough to give the Crushers a 5-4 win at Milwaukee County Stadium (1976).
The victory gave Milwaukee wins in the final two games of the three-game series.
A four-run first inning allowed the River Walkers to grab a nice early lead.
Thairo Estrada (single), Jose Segura (double) and Cris Rosario (single) all collected RBIs.
But St. Louis would not score again, and the Crushers would peck away with four one-run innings against Walkers starter Izzy San Juan.
Erik Rivera led off the bottom of the first with a home run.
Cayden Wallace led off the second with a single and later scored on a Tristan Hanoian fly ball.
In the third, Rivera drew a lead-off walk and scored when catcher Hayden Jones was charged with a passed ball.
Milwaukee tied it in the sixth.
Ian Blount singled off San Juan with one out and scored on a two-out double by Hanoian.
An inning later, Bohm's long ball put the Crushers in front.
After the four-run first, Milwaukee starter George McCardel settled in to throw five scoreless innings.
Overall, he allowed the four runs on 10 hits.
The win went to James Pazos (2-1), who pitched a scoreless seventh.
Mike Goodkin and Bill Webb followed that up with a scoreless innings.
Webb earned his sixth save.
