21 April 2298 - Easy Town Assaultrons Ship Adamson to Abernathy
BNN is reporting a rumored trade between the Easy Town Assaultrons and Abernathy Adamantium has been finalized. The deal, which is expected to be announced sometime during the next few hours, will reportedly send 20-year-old minor league RHP Ashland Adamson and a 4th round draft pick to Abernathy in return for 31-year-old minor league LF Ransom Sansom. The clubs were noncommittal on the trade, but did not deny it.
Adamson was the Assaultrons' 5th-round pick in the 2297 Rookie Draft.
22 April 2298 - Rogers Powers Four Leafs to 15-4 Win
The Finch Farm Four Leafs powered past the Easy Town Assaultrons, 15-4, at Finch Family Park. Ginger Rogers was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Matt Pageturner got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The defeat makes Easy Town 8-5.
Finch Farm catcher Gary "Gary" Gary made an impact. He drilled a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first. For the game, Gary went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Gary said.
22 April 2298 - Phillips Excels, But Dwellers Win
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Vault 81 Dwellers and Roxbury Knuckle Punchers.
The Vault 81 Dwellers weathered an outstanding game by Roxbury shortstop Travis Phillips to topple the Knuckle Punchers, 6-5. Phillips hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Josh Mustang. He's now 2-2. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Dwellers. Radscorpion Johnson earned the save for Vault 81, his 3rd of the year.
Ronald Raygun helped the cause in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. His at-bat contributed to the Vault 81 win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Raygun told the Vault 81 Chronicle.
The win puts Vault 81 at 5-8.
22 April 2298 - Hancocks Top Red Rockets, 13-1, Behind Iddings
Goodneighbor Hancocks starter Bruce Iddings was in fine form against the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets at Red Rockets Stadium, leading his team to a win, 13-1. The Hancocks raised their record to 9-4.
Iddings, the winner, is now 3-0. In 9 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 8 Ks. He essentially shut down the Jamaica Plain offense.
"The Hancocks definitely had our number," said Jamaica Plain manager Mark Sellsword.
22 April 2298 - 8-5 Loss to Party Boys Extends County Crossing Losing Streak
Nordhagen Beach right fielder Tomas Jones was a significant contributor in his team's 8-5 triumph over the County Crossing Bloodbugs. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Nordhagen Beach. Night Demon Archacki closed it out for his 4th save. The Bloodbugs, now 4-9, continue their slow start.
Nordhagen Beach used the timely hitting of Michael Fogcrawler to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm proud to wear a Nordhagen Beach jersey," Fogcrawler told the Nordhagen Beach News. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
22 April 2298 - Radstags Win at Fort Hagen, 10-5
Good production from right fielder David Stahl helped the Concord Radstags topple the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 10-5. Stahl was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Radstags. Concord pitcher Gwinnett Southie got the win. He's now 3-0. Joey Dimes was tagged with the loss. Fort Hagen falls to 9-4.
Lucky Oldsun, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Oldsun contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Concord up, 4-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Oldsun said after the game.
