23 April 2298 - Oberland Gets 5-2 Win, Now 13-1
Behind the hitting of Prof Castillo, the Oberland T-51s stopped the Diamond City Swatters, 5-2. Castillo went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the T-51s. The winning pitcher was Gerald Jerry. His record is now 3-1. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the T-51s. Oberland, now 13-1, has played well in the early going.
In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, Castillo came to the plate. He hit a solo home run off Mark Stuhlsatz to put the T-51s in the lead, 2-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Castillo said.
23 April 2298 - Lady Killers Walk It Off for 7th Win of Season
The Starlight Lady Killers beat the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, 8-7, at Valentine Detective Agency Field. The win was due in part to left fielder Jesus Church, who went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Chemists fall to 5-9.
Church came through with the big blow. With the score 6-6 in the bottom of the eighth and two down, he hit a run-scoring double, giving Starlight the walk-off win.
"This game tested our mettle," said Church.
23 April 2298 - Party Boys Top Bloodbugs, 5-1, Behind Arthur
The County Crossing Bloodbugs extended their losing streak with a loss to the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys.
Nordhagen Beach turned a good effort from starter Chet Arthur into a win over the County Crossing Bloodbugs at Beantown Brewery Stadium. The final score was 5-1. Night Demon Archacki closed the door for Nordhagen Beach, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Arthur, the winner, is now 1-3 after putting the clamps on the County Crossing offense. In 8.2 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 6 Ks.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Arthur told the Nordhagen Beach News.
The loss has the Bloodbugs at 4-10.
23 April 2298 - Silver Shroud Knock Off Radstags, 7-2
Fort Hagen Silver Shroud starter Derek Green pitched a strong game against the Concord Radstags at Hubris Comics Park, leading the Silver Shroud to victory, 7-2. Green got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Green allowed 2 runs. Fort Hagen goes to 10-4.
Fort Hagen second baseman Mark Miller made an impact. He drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the third. In the contest, Miller was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Miller.
