Management, players and fans alike knew a season at the Diamond tier would be a challenge, and they weren't wrong. On the plus side, since it was expected, fans still packed The Spile to watch the spectacle.
When the trap door finally opened up to take the team back to the Gold tier, it was a welcomed event. Waffletown ended the season with their worst record in franchise history: 49-113
"Ya gotta just forget about it and move on." said pitcher Matt Kilroy. "Though hopefully my last game sets the standard for next season." (Kilroy won his final game of the season to break a personal 16 game losing streak.)
