1995 Season :

  • Pre-season story:

The Maple Leaves could been labellized the worst franchise since its creation in 1975, nonetheless they got better these past years and won a championship against all odds. Pitcher P.T. Maedgen struggled with BB in his early career, but last season, his performances on the mount was one of the key factor of his team's success. He was the leader in ERA (2.04), and wins (20). He also had a WHIP of 1.05, 214 K and 5.3 WAR.

The Colourful Valley division is the only one that has not provided a LBS winner. With a team filled with all-stars and Golden Glove winners (one of theirs players won it 4 times out of 7 occurences), the Silver Eagles thought they would be the one to break the curse, but they did not. Their RF Chris Brisuela is not often under the spotlight, but his two last season were pretty consistent. He batted for .289/.327/.435 in 1994.

After a 3rd place for the first time in their history, the Bears want to take a step further by clinching a playoff berth. Last season, Cesar Gomez won his third Golden Ball last year with the B&Y at 39, 10 years after the 2nd one. He is now part of the other Kuronga franchise. He led the league in ERA (1.99), WHIP(0.98), K/9 (0.4) and WAR (5.0).

First division crown for the Jade Tigers last year. They were in the shadow of their neighbors for the past couple of years, but they now aspired to surpass them. SP Wayne Davies is now known accross the league for his high number of K. He led the league in K for two seasons now with 222 and 215 and in K/9 with 10.2 and 9.5. He also had the best BABIP last year with .229 with an ERA of 2.93.

City struggles to perform in postseason as well as they do in regular season. They lost their biggest star, Yun-qi Chu to the Freros during the offseason. His move was harshly received by the fans as he declined an option to play in a neighboring franchise. Ixzi Fitzgerald is still there, him. The Lingalian LF won the two last batting titles with .339 and .325 and is still a confirmed player of the league. He also had .352 OBP and .446 SLG last year.

Achieving a winning record for the first time in their history last season, Stonegap's roster looks pretty promising. They will surely benefitted from their AAA team, Zerstrig, recent successes. After revealing himself in 1992, Alex Castro confirmed the expectations set on him last year with a second Ruby Award. The center fielder had a batting line of .289/.342/.414, with 20 SB and 5.6 WAR.

With the addition of Yun-qi Chu to their squad, the Freros manage to top the Moon division, while weakening City, which finished last. The Wayt Tides Thunders were only one win away to clinch their first playoff berth, instead the Nang Nius are back in postseason.

The Expendables again won the Outlands division. Their closer Villanueva was stellar and won the Silver Ball. 5 games behind, the Wheelies were able to clinch quite easily their first postseason berth. The champion Orange finished third and Narballo was the only team with more than 100 losses.

The Jade Tigers were able to defend with success their division title. Their CF Kistikumara Revati is still one of the best hitter of the league. For the second place, it was a tight race between the Silver Eagles and the Green Goblins, in the end the other franchise from Boubi Town will play the playoffs. The Golden Dragons finished with the exact same record as last year.

With a .531, the Black&Yellows won their 20th division title, their SS Farraj bin Harun delivered great performance on the field. Another newcomer will play in the 1995 postseason : Kuronga which was able to secure the second spot. The Diamonds and the Sea Stars finished in this order behind after disappointing seasons from both sides.
