In the Onion Series, two division rivals were opposed : the Narballo Gators and the Lingalia Mammoths. After 1978 and 1983, it is the third time these teams meet at the final stage. The Gators won the series to end their 17 years-drought.
The Angels top up the Orioles to seek their 5th championship in the ALCS, while in the NLCS, Pittsburgh won against San Francisco.
In five games, the Pirates won their fourth WS, as much as their opponent.
- International Championship Series:
In Kuronga, Pittsburgh and Green District will play the ICS together for the second time, after 1988. Playing in their home country, the Expendables swept the Pirates to send them home.

Guan-pei Chio (80,2%) on his first ballot. Chio was one of the best player of the league during his career. He is inducted with a Green District hat, he played from 74 to 82 there, winning two championships. Then, Chio played for the Black&Yellows until his retirement in 89, when he won another championship. Playing in left field, he won 10 Sapphire awards, 3 Ruby awards and the 1982 LBS MVP.
