8 May 2298 - Go Has 20-Game Hitting Streak

Millioncap Go continued his streak at Tarberry Field Forever today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The The Slog center fielder was 2-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Ghouls were not as fortunate, losing 6-4 to the Salem Witch Hats.

"Go was hitting everything we threw at him," said Salem manager Proper Lighthouse. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win."

Millioncap Go doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Go is currently hitting at a .412 pace with 1 home run, 14 RBIs and has scored 19 times.

Salem's Joe Rossi went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Witch Hats. Dan Beantown recorded the save for Salem, his 7th of the season.

Rossi contributed in the top of the fifth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Salem take the lead and eventually get the win.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rossi told the Salem Times. "It's as simple as that."

The Ghouls, at 12-13, have lost 5 straight games.

8 May 2298 - Ninjas, Danse Blast Swatters, 10-1

The Egret Ninjas downed the Diamond City Swatters, 10-1. The hitting star was left fielder Paladin Danse. Danse was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4 for the Ninjas. The third-place Ninjas have won 4 straight games.

Egret relied on the hitting of Tony Tamez to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Ninjas on top, 3-0. For the game, Tamez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Danse.

8 May 2298 - Carrotflower 3-3, Leads Bloodbugs to Win

Bloodbugs second baseman Joel Carrotflower put his stamp on his team's 10-4 win over the Easy Town Assaultrons. Carrotflower went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for County Crossing in the contest. County Crossing swept the Assaultrons.

Carrotflower had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fifth for the Bloodbugs. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and County Crossing trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Carrotflower. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

8 May 2298 - Hancocks Drop Cats, 6-1

Goodneighbor got a strong outing from Quincy Eloquent as the Hancocks defeated the Atom Cats, 6-1, at Coolest Field in Town. Goodneighbor has run its win streak to 7 in a row.

Burtie Cuttooth, who is tied for 6th in the SCA in doubles with 10, contributed to the Goodneighbor win with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.

"I felt good up there," said Cuttooth. "I saw the ball well."

8 May 2298 - Synths Upend Silver Shroud, 10-7

Swat Diamond was a major factor in the 10-7 Lexington win over Fort Hagen. The Synths first baseman went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Doug Dee El earned the save for Lexington, his 4th. The Synths go to 10-15 with the win.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Greg Macn? The Lexington second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Synths on top, 5-2. For the game, Macn had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Diamond told the Lexington Herald.

8 May 2298 - Finch Farm Topples Nordhagen Beach, 8-4

The Finch Farm Four Leafs powered past the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 8-4, at Finch Family Park. Danny Honeycutt was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Finch Farm starter Matt Pageturner was credited with the win after throwing 134 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. The Four Leafs now own a record of 11-14 after winning two of three from the first-place Party Boys.

In the bottom of the first, Matt Basile hit a 3-run home run. The 6th home run of the season for the Finch Farm right fielder put the Four Leafs on top, 3-1.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Honeycutt said.
