10 May 2298 - 4-1 Win Takes Silver Shroud to 15-11

Fort Hagen Silver Shroud starter Brent Hooker pitched a strong game against the Easy Town Assaultrons at Hubris Comics Park, leading the Silver Shroud to victory, 4-1. The Assaultrons, at 16-10, have lost 4 in a row.

The Silver Shroud got an important contribution from left fielder Andre Grogg, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 2-2 fastball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Silver Shroud ahead, 4-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Hooker told the Fort Hagen Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

10 May 2298 - Hirshfield Excels, But Gunners Win

Roxbury left fielder Chris Hirshfield had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hirshfield belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as Quincy beat the Knuckle Punchers, 13-7. Ray Human got the win, improving to 1-2. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. The win hiked the Quincy record to 15-11.

In the top of the second, Ray Human delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Quincy starting pitcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Gunners in front, 13-7.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Human said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

10 May 2298 - Mirelurks Nip Swatters, 2-1

Behind an impressive start by Dave Kovalenko, Warwick beat Diamond City, 2-1, in 11 innings. With the win, Warwick pushed its record to 13-13.

The Mirelurks liked what they saw from Kovalenko. The 19-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Swatters to 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings, and striking out 7.

Afterward, Mirelurks manager Old Man Langford was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."

10 May 2298 - Flatt Rips 2 Home Runs in 10-6 Red Rockets Triumph

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets grabbed a win, 10-6, over the Oberland T-51s at Red Rockets Stadium. Jamaica Plain first baseman Cody Flatt belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jamaica Plain starter Will Rope was credited with the win after throwing 109 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. The Red Rockets improve their record to 11-15 with the win over Oberland.

Jamaica Plain took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Flatt hit a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season made the score 7-4, Jamaica Plain.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Flatt.

10 May 2298 - Lady Killers Lose Again, 4-1, to Party Boys

Nordhagen Beach starter Chet Arthur had a strong outing against the Starlight Lady Killers at Valentine Detective Agency Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. In 7 innings, Arthur surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Night Demon Archacki earned the save, his 8th, for the Party Boys.

Nordhagen Beach used a well-timed hit by Tomas Jones to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Party Boys ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It was a solid team effort," said Jones after the game.

The slumping Lady Killers have dropped 6 in a row.
