October 7: The AL Wild Card Game
Welp, we're getting a Rays-Orioles ALDS, so buckle yourselves in. Gunnar Henderson homered to lead off the game for the Orioles igniting a 3-run 1st inning rally and Baltimore never looked back in a WC game rout. Bryar Johnson pitched like the ace he is going 7.1 4 0 0 2 6 and the good news is the Rays will only see him once in the series. Meanwhile an epic collapse from the Twins who only needed to beat Chicago either once in their final weekend series or in the one-game playoff and did neither.
October 8, The NL Wild Card Game:
Rarely does a game ever turn on a wild pitch strikeout, but that's what happened in Washington. San Diego and MacKenzie Gore were seemingly in complete control, up 5-0 going to the bottom of the 5th. David Garcia led off the inning for the Nats and struck out but reached on a wild pitch. Gore then struck out the next batter before he couldn't get another out. Single, double, single, single and it was 5-3, then Juan Soto drilled a 3-run HR to make it 6-5 Washington and they never looked back. They'll go on to face the Dodgers in the NLDS.
Also some deserved good news for Jhon Diaz:
