28 May 2298 - Tostado Slugs Synths to 10-4 Win

The Lexington Synths defeated the Sunshine Tidings Chemists, 10-4. Doing his part was right fielder Crooked Tostado, who slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The Synths move to 18-21 with the win, while the Chemists drop to 19-20.

The Synths benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the second. With Justin Daros at bat and Lexington leading 1-0, the Sunshine Tidings miscue allowed Lexington to plate 2 and take the lead, 3-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Tostado.

The winner was Adam Froggatt, who threw 122 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. University Point has now won 4 in a row.

The Deathclaws got a gift in the bottom of the fourth inning, when they were leading 3-2. With two out and the bases loaded, Jukebox Luttrell reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 2 runs. It made the score 5-2, University Point.

"We maximized our offense today," said University Point skipper Woody Lumpkin. "That makes everyone's life easier."

28 May 2298 - Ghouls Deal Party Boys 3-2 Defeat

In a low-scoring clash between The Slog and Nordhagen Beach, pitcher Jason Woods was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Tiny Greene recorded the save for The Slog, his 11th of the season. The Ghouls, at 18-21, sit in third place in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League.

The Slog relied on the hitting of Boots Yellowhair to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Ghouls on top, 3-0. For the game, Yellowhair had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We were in it," said Nordhagen Beach manager Craig Robinson. "We just didn't score enough runs."

28 May 2298 - Fort Hagen Grabs 5-3 Road Win

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud picked up a win at Tato Field, knocking off the Abernathy Adamantium, 5-3. Starting pitcher All Day Acosta played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Acosta, now 3-2. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Fort Hagen raised its record to 21-18 with the win.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mark Miller? The Fort Hagen second baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Silver Shroud on top, 1-0. For the game, Miller had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Miller expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
