Watson Cops #1 Pitcher Award in May: Neil Watson hasn't been around long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice.
In May the Abernathy starter earned a 4-1 mark in 6 starts. He threw 44 innings, struck out 36 and compiled a solid 2.86 ERA.
This year Watson has compiled a 4-2 mark with a 3.44 ERA in 10 starts.
Eloquent #1 SCA Pitcher in May: Quincy Eloquent of Goodneighbor had an outstanding May with a 5-0 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the South Charles Association.

In the bottom of the third, Ayag Mour hit a 2-run double. The 7th double of the season for the Haymarket Mall catcher put the Commandos on top, 3-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Mour said.

2 June 2298 - Lead Bellies Edge Big Leaguers, 7-6
The Boston Common Lead Bellies bested the Natick Banks Big Leaguers by a score of 7-6, with third baseman Blue Beak getting the main credit. On the day, Beak was 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Lead Bellies. Tennessee Tailor closed the game out for Boston Common, earning his 8th save. The 5th-place Lead Bellies now have a win-loss record of 13-18.
Aaron Goodale, who is tied for 3rd in the MA in stolen bases with 5, aided the Boston Common cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Beak told a Boston Common Today reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
Oren Gep and Jim Uglyhair each had home runs in the losing effort for Natick Banks.
Also, league commissioner Nate Howard announced that two players had been suspended for inappropriate conduct. He told BNN, "What I'm trying to do with these penalties is say, we can't stop you from doing these things, but if you do them, you have to understand you will pay the consequences."
Baseball can be an intense game and on-field confrontations happen. However, the league disciplinary policy is to punish, sometimes severely, those who decide to settle things with their fists.
When Blue Beak of the Boston Common Lead Bellies and Jon Huddleston of the Natick Banks Big Leaguers got into a scuffle during a game, both players knew that a suspension would be forthcoming.
Sure enough, today it was announced that both players will each receive a 4-game suspension for their actions in today's game at Hallucigen Stadium at Boston Common.
Beak is batting .284 this season in 31 games with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 109 at-bats.
